A Competition of Critics in Human Decision-Making

چکیده

Recent experiments and theories of human decision-making suggest positive negative errors are processed encoded differently by serotonin dopamine, with possibly serving to oppose dopamine protect against risky decisions. We introduce a temporal difference (TD) model account for these features. Our involves two critics, an optimistic learning system pessimistic system, whose predictions integrated in time control how potential decisions compete be selected. predicts that can decomposed along dimensions: the degree which individual is sensitive (1) risk (2) uncertainty. In addition, we demonstrate learn about mean standard deviation rewards, provide information reaction despite not modeling variables directly. Lastly, simulate recent experiment show updates systems could relate transients, thereby providing mathematical formalism serotonin’s hypothesized role as opponent dopamine. This new should useful future on decision-making.

Ranking Decision Making Units based on their profit in competition to reach a ‎standard level

The full ranking or complete ranking of decision making units is one of the main ‎issues in data envelopment analysis. A full ranking is a ranking that considers all ‎efficient and inefficient units simultaneously and finds a ranking for them. Almost all ‎of the developed ranking methods consider only the efficient units. On the other hand, ‎ranking inefficient units by traditional data envelop...

Clinical Decision-Making: a Way to Professional Empowerment in Nursing

Background. The dynamic and uncertain nature of health care environment requires nurses to be competent decision makers and to respond to the clients needs. Recently, the public and the government have criticized Iranian nurses because of a low quality patient care. However, the nurses’ views and experiences concern- ing the factors affecting their clinical practice and clinical decision making...

Modelling Human Decision-making

A series of projects have been, and are being, performed, that look at modelling human decision-making in simulations. The focus is on using a simulation to elicit knowledge about human decision-making. Artificial intelligence methods are then used to learn the humans’ decision-making strategies. By linking the trained artificial intelligence system with the simulation, it is possible to assess...

Convergence in a sequential two stages decision making process

We analyze a sequential decision making process, in which at each stepthe decision is made in two stages. In the rst stage a partially optimalaction is chosen, which allows the decision maker to learn how to improveit under the new environment. We show how inertia (cost of changing)may lead the process to converge to a routine where no further changesare made. We illustrate our scheme with some...

From conflict management to reward-based decision making: actors and critics in primate medial frontal cortex.

The role of the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) and especially the anterior cingulate cortex has been the subject of intense debate for the last decade. A number of theories have been proposed to account for its function. Broadly speaking, some emphasize cognitive control, whereas others emphasize value processing; specific theories concern reward processing, conflict detection, error monitorin...
